Frequently Asked Questions
How it works:
First, decide on what package you would be interested in, located under pricing, then contact me using the links/phone provided. We will have a quick pre-shoot consultation about what you have in mind, including location and the date. Payment will be due at the photo shoot. Once the photos are taken, I will go through them and send you the best of the best via an online gallery. Together we can discuss which photos you would like to have edited. Editing includes taking out the leash, adjusting the colors and lighting, etc. Once this is complete, I will email you the final edited photos in jpeg format for your convenience. If you want additional photos edited, there is a $10 per photograph fee. These photo files are yours to keep and can be printed any way you want. Please note, I will maintain the right to publish these photos on the Willow and Whiskers website and social media.
How should I prepare my pet/s for a shoot?
I find it’s best, for dogs, to make sure they have plenty of exercise before the shoot so they are relaxed. Cats and other pets should be fine. Make sure they’re groomed and clean to your liking. If you want, bring any props, including bandanas, etc. I’ll make sure to have plenty of treats and water.
How long is the session?
For package one (one pet), expect about 30 minutes depending on how many locations. Package two for one pet allows up to 60 minutes. Package three (two pets), about 90 minutes. Package 4 is up to 60 minutes for studio shots.
Where does the photo shoot take place?
I am flexible on this. We can have the photo-shoot in your house/yard, outdoor place like a park or city location, or in my studio. Please note, in outdoor shots, your pup(s) will be on leash for safety reasons. The leash will be removed in Photoshop.
Is there a fee for travel?
If the destination is within 20 miles of Pittsburgh, there is no fee. However, if your shoot is more than 40 miles round trip, I charge $25-$50 depending on total mileage. Questions? Email me and I will try to accommodate you.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Cash is preferred, but I also take personal checks. Payment is due at the time of the shoot.
What is the cancellation policy?
I know that life happens, so I do not have a cancellation policy, but I ask for at least 3-4 days prior to a shoot, if possible. If you cancel the day of the shoot, without warning or an explanation, I may not allow you to reschedule, depending on the circumstances. Luckily, this has never happened.
When will I get my images?
It will take a few days to a week to go through all the images. Once gone through, I’ll send you the best of the unedited, images via email, or they can be viewed at my studio. You will choose which photos you want edited via email or phone call. After that, it will take around one to two weeks to get them to you, depending on the complexity of the edit.
Do you offer/include prints in your packages?
Yes, I do. I would be happy to handle all your printing needs, or you can do it yourself. When we meet, I can go over the list of printing costs if you’re interested.
How do I get my images?
I will send you a link to an online gallery to view the photos.
